The planning committee of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead resolved that planning permission should be granted for a new school at Stubbings near Maidenhead.
We successfully argued that there are very special circumstances for allowing this development within the greenbelt. These revolve around the wonderful work the school does.
Beech Lodge offers an innovative and hands-on approach to education for those children who require an individually tailored learning environment to build social and life skills, to have access to therapeutic and specialist interventions and, above all, the educational tools with which to achieve their greatest potential. The school currently operates from small temporary facilities and is desperate to begin work on the new site to be able to bring this approach to many more children.
The decision is now with the Secretary of State for final approval.
